I just got my 1GB Sony Walkman Bean a couple of weeks ago, and I am very impressed. I had heard some poor reviews of the player, but took a chance anyway, and I am glad I did. The battery life is unmatched by any product of its kind, and the sound quality is excellent. One poor review I read previously noted a "noticeable hissing in the background." The only time I can hear this is for a split second when switching between songs. It is not even detectable when music is playing (even quiet music).

Apple 30 GB iPod with Video Playback Black
Missy(New York, USA)

This is my first iPod and I'm glad I waited to buy an iPod. This iPod is not only beautiful it's fabulous. Of course the big thing about this iPod is the video playback. I converted all my quicktime videos into m4a video format to work better with the iPod and they look and work beautifully. This iPod is absolutely fabulous. Buy it if you have the cash to spare. ipod with video playback

I love all the features this unit has, but mine crashed less than two months after i purchased it. I purchased the hard case for it, the protective sheets for the screen and took ext
ra care of it. One day it was stuck ON and i could not turn it off, the battery had to run down. I tried doing a hard reset and it stuck on the PALM ONE screen . palm one

iAudio X5L 20 GB Multimedia Player Black

I've had my iAudio X5L for several weeks now -- it's been with me through two road trips (on just ONE battery charge!) and many commutes to work. I am even *happier* with this purchase then I expected to be! Highly recommended as an incredible gift to yourself or someone you know. This is THE digital music player and then some. I'm thrilled with mine.

Good overall with a lot of room for improvement, January 4, 2006 Gimozo (Kansas City)
...The video quality is acceptable. Under the VGA setting, the pictures are sharper, but appear to be kind of grainy. It seems especially important to concentrate on holding the camera steady while shooting. Otherwise, the video looks a bit jumpy. Some of the buttons are not particularly intuitive. For example, there is no obvious "pause" button. The drawstring pouch included in the package is thin with no padding, and doesn't provide protection for the camcorder. I got one from somewhere else and use the pouch for the cables.

Since I bought this Creative Media Player I have nothing bad to say about it. First of all the sound quality is wonderful. Sounds just as good as my stereo, maybe even better. The removable battery is cool and so easy to replace, plus placing songs in this thing is so easy. And you don't even need to load the software into your computer. All that you need in a media player. But the software that does come with it is cool. You can rip an entire cd right into it without having to go into your computer. Plus you can lower the compression rating all the way down to 48 kbs. Works great with Napster and Rhapsody...no problems.....well just one....battery lasts about 4-6 hrs on a full charge...otherwise it's great...even plays movies too...still haven't figured that one out yet...I'm just a novice so when I do you better believe I'm gonna put a movie in this thing.

I had problems as soon as I opened the box. The player keeps freezing during play, data becomes corrupt, the sound is of poor quality, and advertising up to 20 movies storage space is not possible. The most I could ever get on my player was 5, and that was when the playback quality was set on low. I tried to have it serviced just 2 months into a 1 year "warranty" and they said it was going to cost me $150.00 to repair. If you purchase this product, you will be sorry!Archos AV500

It seemed like a really good buy - under $200 for a 20GB A/V player, however, don't let the disk drive capacity and the recording features fool you....unless you don't intend to listen to MP3s on it. The biggest annoyance, one that puts you off using it, is a migraine causing loud click at the start of each track. It is there no matter what volume you set the unit to. Secondly, it takes forever (a minute or two) to start playing a track from the menu. Third...don't leave home without a pin to reset the unit every now and then. It just would not turn on.

Toshiba Gigabeat MEG-F10L (reviews)
I just got this MP3 player recently and found it to be quite good. The most noticeably feature is the screen, the colors and graphics are amazing. You can also rearrange the display of the screen from portait to landscape and upload pictures and music easily. I am currently using the software they provide you with. Although it takes some getting used to, once you understand it, it is quite easy. The Gigabeat misses in its buttons. The cursor is easy to manage, but because it doesn't light up, in the dark it can be hard to manage. Besides the software problems (getting used to it) the only other problem that I have with it, is that there is no radio built in. But this is just a personal preference. This product deserves a 4.5/5.
